Hey All!!
Happy Friday to ya !
I was having an interesting conversation with one of my closest friends.. And we were discussing what it means to be openly gay or closet gay or is there a healthy in between. Now by no means am I revealing my sexual orientation because I'm afraid of what others will say about me. However, I just choose not to. But this day and age or Big Brother and these hidden cams you can watch on the Internet I wonder When is my Business Mine and How Did It Become Yours?
My friend and I both feel that if you want to tell the world you are gay straight or in between that's fine. But isn't it also my choice to keep somethings private? Why do I have to become the poster child for every thing? Not to say that is a bad thing either.. But... Somethings should if you chose remain private.. Why do people try to out you? and it doesn't have to be sexuality either.. It can be that out of all of your friends who love and worship hip-hop you could love show tunes.. But the minute one of your friends finds out you become the subject of the Grand Inquisition (for the slow folks 20 questions lol).. As if you cant like different things and have to be pigeon holed into a box.. I mean damn !!
My rant is not only for me and my friend who sparked this discussion.. But it's for everyone...
Look it's 2009 and I am sure that we (me too) have other things to worry about other than what everybody else is doing... Let's make a deal in fact a bet if we focus more on improving ourselves and less on what others are doing our world will be a much better place. Once we get ourselves together we can then work on one another..
I am reminded of a great scripture I read in the bible.
Before I point out the speck of dirt in your eye I first have to get the beam out of mine... (if you think I'm lying look it up) Now see that is something to live by..
Or I can use my Mommy's version... Don't throw stones because you live in a glass house too! lol..
Hey I'll catch y'all on the flip !
Peace

good job on this one...i love it...u r a natural blogger and yeah...can one just be who they are without having to answer to another or here the whispers of one saying oooh...look at them..they're lesbians/gay...just be you and i'll be me and everyone can mind their own beeswax....period.
I also feel what you're saying...I for one will am very selective on who I reveal my sexual preference to by choice. No one is entitled to no anything that will not affect them and sexual preference falls into that category.
